Self-Improvement - Identifying Stress

It can be difficult to recognize exactly what caused the stress when you are all already deep into the effects of the stress. We are often too ready to take medications without trying to find out what started the episode to begin with. If we are to quick to settle for over the counter medicines are prescription we will often find that the root of this problem is still there when the medication is stopped.

Stress management involves getting to know your own body and finding what own routine will allow you to cope with your problems and avoid a possible re-occurrence.

You will find below a list of some very simple techniques that you can use to address the symptoms before they are out of control.

What Is Stress?

Stress is your bodies reaction to certain daily events your life that you mentally, emotionally, physically a negative way.In most cases you will find that stress will start off with the mind, later progressing to your emotions and if you have no coping abilities put in place it can then go on to the body.

I suggest taking notes, trying to be aware of your body daily for a couple of weeks. When you feel the stress coming on take a look at your notes and see if you can find what you were doing prior to feeling this stress. If you can identify the cause of your stress then it is much easier to deal with and get rid of. Try relaxation techniques they are go for clearing the mind and removing the stress before it effects the body.

What You Can Do....

Remember that medications are temporary unless you are going to continue taking them. I am going to suggest a few techniques to help alleviate the stress.

Relax listen to soothing music, light candles, certain scents like lavender and jasmine are proven to have a calming effect and can help to your head. I love taking a bubble bath with lots of candles lit. Remember though, this is relaxing not just jumping in sitting there thinking about all you have to do when you get out, and then jumping out. It means sitting there closing your eyes, listening to the music, focus on your breathing and staying in till the water gets to cold.

Remember we all need time for ourselves. Do not get in a rut and get over-whelmed. Try identifying the stress and dealing with it as soon as possible.
